A shocking crime spree unfolded in Key Largo when a violent suspect stole a sheriff’s deputy’s patrol car, carjacked a civilian, and crashed the stolen SUV—all while trying to escape from law enforcement. Newly released body and dashboard camera footage shows the chaos in real time.

Authorities say the suspect, wanted for attempted murder, viciously assaulted his ex-girlfriend on December 22. Reports indicate he suffocated her with a cleaning cloth soaked in Fabuloso and strangled her while repeatedly threatening her life, as reported by Police 1.

His own daughter’s desperate 911 call painted a horrifying picture. “My dad is in my house hitting my mom to death,” she told dispatchers.

When Monroe County Sheriff’s Sgt. James Hager arrived to arrest the man, the situation escalated fast. The suspect violently resisted, punching the sergeant and attempting to grab his gun from its holster.

Despite being hit with a TASER, he managed to overpower Hager, break free, and jump into the deputy’s patrol car.

“He just stole my patrol car!” Hager shouted in body camera footage as the suspect sped away with lights flashing and sirens blaring.

Dashcam video captured the suspect’s reckless driving before he stopped near a storefront. In a brazen move, he targeted a 46-year-old woman in an SUV, likely mistaking the flashing police lights as an actual traffic stop.

The footage shows him yanking on her door and forcing her out before speeding off.

His getaway was short-lived. With Monroe County deputies and a Florida Highway Patrol trooper in hot pursuit, the suspect lost control of the stolen SUV, flipping the vehicle in a dramatic crash.

Video shows officers swiftly pulling him from the wreckage and placing him under arrest.

Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsay later emphasized the dangers law enforcement officers face daily.

“Reminder of the risks our deputies encounter while simply doing their jobs.”

Now sitting in jail without bond, the suspect faces a mountain of charges. His violent rampage endangered civilians, officers, and himself, but justice caught up with him in the end.
